“Du fond de l'abîme (Psalm 130: De Profundis / "Out of the depths"), composed for voice and orchestra, is dedicated to the memory of her father, as noted at the top of the score.
The work, completed when Boulanger was aged only twenty-two, sounds mature and conveys a developed compositional style.
